In a world where underarm perspiration is going nowhere, and nasty aluminum salts and parabens lurk in so many name brand deodorants, new DeoDry Dry-Effect Deodorant seems to be a revolution. From The Body Shop, DeoDry is chalking up the credentials to be a pretty fantastic green deodorant that will still keep your underarms smelling tiptop.
This is The Body Shop’s first dry-effect deodorant, and it claims to have effective 24-hour odor protection without annoying white marks. The ingredient list is pretty interesting in itself: a blend of volcanic mineral and essential oils. Their also running a limited time introductory offer for $4, with $3 refills, so giving this line a test run isn’t pricey at all. The deodorant is also available in a roll-on or stick form – and it looks like the roll-on is the one you can refill. The refill factor is a nice touch; it allows DeoDry to cut down on packaging and add value their brand.
On more green notes, DeoDry is made with Community Trade aloe vera from Guatemala and alcohol from Ecuador. Also adding a nice organic touch, the aloe vera and sugarcane are both grown on organic farms. Being an aluminum free deodorant with high quality organic and Community Trade ingredients is huge in my book. Aluminum has been linked to an increase in the risk of breast cancer, Alzheimer’s, brain disorders and respiratory problems. Community Trade farmers are treated with fair and consistent wages, and organic helps you avoided unneeded, potentially dangerous chemicals slipping into your pores.
The Body Shop’s DeoDry is still very new. The green creds add up, but I have yet to test run this deodorant line. When my order comes in (I didn’t want to miss their introductory offer), I’ll have a full perspiration run down for you. I’m trying out the Dry-Effect Deodorant Fresh & Floral Roll On. Their other two scents in stick and roll-on form are Chilled & Breezy and Cool & Zesty. So far people seem to be really excited and satisfied with DeoDry, fingers crossed I can add my name to the list.
