Hi Alina -- I applaud the idea of creating a safer home, and because there's so much misinformation out there about PTFE [and the Teflon® brand], I'm not surprised that you are concerned. I'm a representative of DuPont and hope you'll let me share some information with you and your readers so that everyone can make truly informed decisions.

DuPont nonstick coatings for cookware are based on PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), which is a high performance fluoropolymer.

Regulatory agencies such as the European Food Safety Authority, French Food Safety Agency (ANSES), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency have affirmed their positions that nonstick coatings made with PTFE are safe for intended use in cookware.

I appreciate your consideration of this comment. Cheers, Sara.

Good question. It's my understanding that Slant Shack ships everything using FedEX Ground and that their ingredients are 100% preservative and nitrate free!

My favorite was my Raggedy Anne doll, aka Big Baby. I would carry her around everywhere and, for some reason, pull out her red hair and leave it everywhere. I think I found it comforting to rub the soft hair in my fingers. I notice my 2-year-old does this with his favorite blankie. Every year, for quite a while, my mom would replace Big Baby with a new one because they would literally fall apart from being dragged around so much.
