Eco-Chic Leashes and Collars for Your Pooch

Eco-Chic Leashes and Collars for Your Pooch

Finding the right leash and collar for your dog can be a challenge. It can take some trial-and-error to find the correct type of collar that fits your pet’s needs.  Whether you’re looking for a martingale, buckle or harness type of collar, several eco-friendly options are available.

For the most fashionable pooches, look for a coordinating leash to go with that eco-chic collar. To help you with your decision, Izzit examined a range of green leashes and collars from ones made of recycled milk cartons to recycled bike tubes:

Buckle-Down

Buckle-Down launched a line of funky dog leashes and collars made from recycled and refurbished seat belt buckles. Many of the graphics on the products — like the “Death or Glory” and “Lucky Red” styles — resemble biker tattoos.

The company sent my puppy Cooper the Peace Collar in brown and olive to test out. Cooper had snapped the plastic buckle on his previous collar and, by comparison, the Buckle-Down collar has proven to be strong and durable. Plus, we’ve gotten tons of compliments on how cute he looks wearing the unique design.

The leashes and collars are available online at Amazon.com and at PETCO stores.
