House of Marley Headphones: What Would Bob Think?

House of Marley Headphones: What Would Bob Think?

Consider three events: In January 1981 at the Winter Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, electronics companies announced future looking products known as the “camcorder,” the “compact disc player” and the Commodore VIC-20, the predecessor to the flashy Commodore 64. Four months later, on May 11, Jamaican national treasure Bob Marley passed away at the age of 36. Now jump forward 30 years to January 2011 when an upstart consumer electronics brand bearing the name House of Marley announced a full line of earphones, earbuds and iPod docks at CES 2011.

Beyond the future of the sport, in many places snow pack is a natural storage system for water used to irrigate agricultural lands, come snow melt in spring. As glaciers recede, and snow accumulations lessen, many people who depend on them for food and water are threatened. Read more »

Knu To You Kiddo

knu-redball-rocker

This recently reintroduced reproduction red rocker is ragin’?  If your toddler could alliterate, this is what she’d say.  Seriously.

Knu, a sustainably-focused modern furniture manufacturer in Michigan, has indeed introduced a reproduction of the 60′s classic kids rocker (predictably) called the Red Ball Rocker.  Which is to say they’ve restarted production of a very cool rocking-horse substitute that eschews the long horse face and faux fur for a gleaming red ball and chic design.  They’ve also replaced the potential ‘made for children by children’ vibe with ‘made in the USA from FSC certified materials by a company that geniunely cares about the environment’ vibe.  So how ’bout that pardner. Pretty nice indeed ma’am. Read more »
