China Daily wants your "honest" feedback

Oh dear. As the Beijing Olympics march forward on the momentum of their much-discussed Opening Ceremony, the venerable China Daily (China's largest English language newspaper) is soliciting the feedback of foreign visitors.

Of course, being a state-run paper, even the most honest feedback would have to be weighed against the government's editorial policies. In this case, however, the "feedback" is almost indistinguishable from the official government line. So much so that this enterprising writer thinks that the interviewees and their comments are the creations of his equally enterprising counterparts in Beijing.

But maybe I'm just a member of the "disgruntled minority," as the fellow from Singapore puts it. Thoughts?
