Bai and Bai5: “Supernaturally” Healthy and Delicious
Categories: Food & Drink
There are few people who are unfamiliar with the rich taste of a steaming cup of coffee, but how many of us have experienced the super fruit that produces the coffee bean itself? The coffee fruit is a goldmine of antioxidants and natural benefits, which, because of its delicacy and perishability, has been discarded until now with the introduction of the innovative and highly beneficial line of fruit drinks, Bai and Bai5.
The originator of this remarkable new product, Ben Weiss, has spent a long time in the coffee industry and has always been passionate about green, naturally healthy beverages. In his past work he frequently came into direct contact with the coffee fruit and eventually discovered its incredibly high antioxidant content, which he refers to as “supernatural”. Antioxidants are molecules that fight the production of free radicals, other unfriendly molecules that can kill your cells. They not only provide a major boost to your immune system, but also promote skin health and even slow down the process of aging. Bai and Bai5 are the results of his efforts to share these benefits with the world at large.
What’s Inside?
Bai makes extensive use of a fruit that has previously been considered a waste product of the coffee-making process and we applaud that here at IzzitGreen. By using every part of what’s produced by the coffee plant, Bai makes the most of the Earth’s resources and refuses to let any of nature’s bounty go to waste. Packed with 250% of the average daily intake of antioxidants, and containing only 35 milligrams of natural caffeine, 70 calorie Bai provides a healthy alternative to calorie laden, sugary sodas and fruit drinks. On the other hand, sweetened with organic stevia extract, Bai5 contains the same beneficial properties of the original Bai drink, but with only five calories.
Flavors Galore
Both Bai and Bai5 come in a wide variety of scrumptious, exotic flavors, such as Sumatra Dragonfruit and Brasilia Blueberry. Bai sent Izzit two flavors of Bai5 to try for ourselves, Costa Rica Clementine and Panama Peach. I liked them both, but Cost Rica Clementine with its citrusy sweetness was my favorite. Both flavors were refreshing and light, gave me the caffeine boost of a cup of tea, and didn’t leave me feeling guilty about indulging. Other flavors include Jamaica Blueberry, Mango Kauai, Tanzania Strawberry, Kenya Peach, Congo Pear, Ipanema Pomegranate, and Malawi Mango. The flavor names are dedicated to coffee-producing countries around the equator while the coffee fruit used in Bai is imported from Bali, Indonesia. The 11 tasty flavors make Bai seem sinfully delicious, but getting your recommended daily intake of antioxidants is hardly something to regret with only 0-5 calories per serving.
If you need more proof that Bai and Bai5 are an incredibly tasty, readily available, pleasantly colorful fountain of youth, check it out, even the experts are impressed! In 2010 the Bai line won the titles of Best New Functional Drink and Best New Beverage Ingredient at the Beverage Innovation Awards. The coffee fruit’s amazing power is the key to our belief that Bai is a treasure for any health and environmentally conscious consumer.
